The idea of being a creative artist and
developing your own style off of a base is not unique. The vehicle that
is used to get to this end is an incredible key component in bridging
the gap between martial practioner and martial artist!
Joseph Bronson developed the ASP (Accelerated
Self-Protection Program) system of martial development during a ten year
period of time while teaching in central Oregon. While teaching all of
his different classes (Shaolin Forms-Energy drills of trapping, kickboxing,
Philippine weapons, Kuntao Silat deThouars, joint manipulations and destruction,
etc) Joseph saw that his students were gaining a greater sense of self
defense principals faster through various aspects of the different classes.
Through analyzing which aspects of training
improved the beginner the most in the shortest period of time, the ASP
System was born. This is not Joseph Bronson’s style. It is a system
of development meant to guide the student to a higher understanding of
the vocabulary of motion in a physical movement for self defense purposes.
Our aim is not to teach a style, but rather to give each student the
tools to create their own style.
