What
is Kung Fu?
Most
people believe that Kung Fu is an Oriental form of self defense that
originated in China long ago. But the true meaning of Kung Fu is
far greater than just a name that we use for the Chinese martial arts. The
term "Kung Fu" means
"Working hard towards great accomplishment" or "The
journey on the path of becoming a skilled artisan" The idea
of Kung fu is that you can become "Kung fu" if you are working
hard towards whatever your goal may be.
"Working
hard Towards Great Accomplishment"
At the Mountain
Warrior Kung Fu Academy, we are
working to help each of our students to become "Kung Fu" through
the martial arts. Our training methods are unique and come
from such diverse styles as:
Wah Lum Tam Tui
Northern Praying Mantis Kung fu for classical
scholar forms and traditional strength training.
Kuntao Silat
Detours for body
conditioning and fighting forms.
Modified Wing
Chun and Red Boat Wing Chun Kung Fu for
the study of close quarter combat drills and lightning fast responses.
Philipino stick
drills from Kali Escrima and Arnis for
eye speed and quickening of the reflexes.
Modern Western
Kickboxing for cardiovascular stamina
and muscle endurance.
~Style~
The statement
of the styles used at the Mountain Warrior
Kung Fu Academy is certainly not complete
but just hits the highlights of the beginning of study at our facility. We
believe that in using the term "Kung
Fu" in our training at the academy,
we honor
the true essence of "Kung Fu".
When working hard towards great accomplishment (Kung
Fu) you must learn from the past yet
constantly strive to refine and evolve so that our future
will continue to expand. To become "Kung
Fu" one must seek to continuously
change, evolve and adapt to the circumstances around us.
It is with
great expectations that I invite you to come study the martial
arts at the Mountain Warrior Kung Fu Academy. With
patience you will find yourself becoming "Kung
Fu"
Sincerely,
Joseph Bronson
